And so, the uncanny parellels between byrds of prey, your humble rock ambassadors, and Spinal Tap continue. It seems that byrds of prey to bass players are to Spinal Tap as drummers. We just can't keep them around. Our very own Hayden Sias has spontaneously combusted. We are saddened by Hayden's unexpected departure, but wish him well with his future adventures. He was a a blast to play with and we shall weep over his ashes. "Why are we here? Because we're here. Roll the Bones" And thus we are filling the slot with a once and future member of byrds of prey, one John Harmon "Trapper John" Durden, monster bass player in his own right and formerly of Bipolar. We look forward to the next era of byrds of prey with John and who knows, perhaps the ghost of bass players past will show up from time to time and spontaneously join us on stage for a song or two! Till nextime, Peace!
The rumors are true!! Your humble rock ambassadors, byrds of prey, have returned to the studio and have begun the process of recording our follow up to 2006's debut "The Wave". The album will feature a number tunes that we've been playing at our shows, as well as a few gems that have not yet been heard by the public ear. We're all pretty excited about it and there will be a little harder edge to some of the material. We'll keep you posted on the process, and perhaps will tease you with some trinkets from time to time. Rock on!!
"And so it was written that on the 23rd day of the Month of January in the year 2009, that there would be a convergence of the forces of byrds of prey and Outlaw Mystic and there would be an overwhelming wave of tone and power, and those few who were privledged to particpate would be one with the ass kicking rock and roll that would occur. The place of this historic event would come to be known as Valentine's and the generations that followed would tell the tale of how the walls would be rocked to their very foundation, and all who witnessed this joyous event would be forever changed by the experience....." Ok so maybe it wasn't quite that epic, but if you missed the double bill of byrds of prey and Outlaw Mystic last night at Valentiune's we hope it for a good reason, because it was an ass kicking show if I do say so myself. Many of you have seen us, but if you haven't experienced Outlaw Mystic, do yourself a favor and check them out. Especially if we're playing with them again. You won't be sorry! Till next time, Peace!

I was hit by a bit of sad news tonight. As some of you may know, prior to byrds of prey, I played for a few years with a band called OffRamp. Yesterday, the original bass player in OffRamp, Ted Korenyik, passed away. Ted was a a lot of fun, and I enjoyed the time that Ted and I performed together. He always had a joke to tell, no matter how cheesey and had a great gift for harmony. He will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Ted's family.
