I was hit by a bit of sad news tonight.  As some of you may know, prior to byrds of prey, I played for a few years with a band called OffRamp.  Yesterday, the original bass player in OffRamp, Ted Korenyik, passed away.  Ted was a a lot of fun, and I enjoyed the time that Ted and I performed together.  He always had a joke to tell, no matter how cheesey and had a great gift for harmony.  He will be missed.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to Ted's family.

Troy Night Out

Don't forget Troy Night Out is Friday JUne 27 and its also your next chance to see byrds of prey live!!  We'll be playing from 6 - 8 in front of the Broken Mold at 284 River St.  Be sure to check us out and then take in more of the sights and sounds of the home of Uncle Sam!!

But Albert Cummings sure does!!   And we are proud as hell to be warming up the crowd for him when he and his band come to kick off Troy's Rockin' on the River summer concert series on June 11!  The show starts  at 5:00 pm with your humble entertainers, byrds of prey!  Albert puts on a great show, and we will do our part to get you all worked up for him.  Don't miss this one kids, its gonna be a smokin' night!!

Unfortunately we will not be competing in the Freihofer's contest this coming Sunday at Savannah's in Albany.  We have to withdraw due to last minute schedule conflicts.

Tip toe, through the Tulips...

OK, so that was a stretch, but it was sung by Tiny Tim, and our drummer is named Tim, and he’s kind of a small guy so there is a connection!  Anyway, your humble musical servants, byrds of prey, have been selected to be one of the performing bands at this year’s Tulip Fest!  At this point we know we are on the ampitheatre stage, but the time and the rest of the line up has not yet been revealed to us.  Stay tuned for more details, and we’ll post them as soon as we have them!

WRPI Rocks n’ Stuff

First off, a great big thank you to Gino, Tom, Charlie and all the gang at WRPI.  We had a great time playing Wednesday Night Live tonight and appreciate all of the support we get from the Station.

On the new business front, we are now in regular rotaion on 97.7 WEXT as one of their local 518 artists.  If you want to hear more of us be sure to contact them through their feedback line or cll the station and let them know you want to hear more byrds of prey!!

If only’s

So we went to Northern Lights Sunday Night to try and raise money for the Cail family to offset some of their medical bills for their son Christian.  Unfortunately, it would have been cooler if there were more people there, but everyone realized a Sunday is kind of tough to get people out.  The good news is they did raise some money, and capital news 9 was there for a little while, and Christian sure seemed to be having a lot of fun.  Bottom line is this is a real nice family and every little bit can help.  If you want to know where to make a donation go
